Authentic Paloma
Not quite in a margarita mood? Meet its tart and refreshing cousin that’s also a favorite of locals in Mexico: the Paloma cocktail.
The margarita always gets top billing as the quintessential Mexican cocktail. Don’t get us wrong, we love a good margarita — as evidenced by the multiple margarita recipes in our cocktail library — but our Authentic Paloma recipe with el Jimador is a go-to summer drink. Maybe it’s the simplicity, or the “ahh!” after every delicious sip, or that it’s perfect for both quiet evenings on the patio and parties. Or all three!
If you love the taste of fresh grapefruit, feel free to swap out grapefruit soda with fresh grapefruit juice and unflavored sparkling water in this easy paloma cocktail recipe. But we do recommend sticking with the clean taste of a blanco tequila, like el Jimador Silver. (Reposado could work in a pinch, too.) They ensure your el Jimador Paloma is the light and refreshing drink it was meant to be.
